The ingredient of Traditional Maori Doughboys

  • 3 cups self raising flour
  • 1 4 teaspoon salt
  • water lukewarm to mix

The Instruction of traditional maori doughboys

  • sift flour and salt into a bowl slowly add water and mix using a fork or wooden spoon to a soft dough
  • turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface knead only a few times as the dough needs to remain soft and kept in a round ball the dough must not be firm
  • using the palms of your hand hold the dough ball and squeeze a round shape of a golf ball size until you have at least 8 sit these on a lightly floured surface till ready to use
  • add to a frying pan of boiling water or simmering stew cover with lid cook on one side for a minute then turn over and do the same these will almost double in size enjoy
